In addition to Blume's first four core funds, we have raised a secondary fund, multiple opportunity funds, and special purpose vehicles. We do so because our belief in the potential of the startup, as well as the desire to continue to partner with the founders far outweigh the funds we have been able to raise in our primary vehicle. We have never allowed our fund sizes to come in the way of our beliefs and desires.
Fund I
Blume closed Fund I (2011−14) at ₹100Cr (today $12.5M, but at then exchange rates, $22M), raised almost entirely from domestic investors. Fund II
Fund II (2015−17) was larger ($60M, ₹400Cr at then exchange rate) and saw the participation of international institutional LPs (Limited Partners). Blume’s cheque size increased to $400-$750k and enabled it to transition to a seed stage fund. Latest Fund II
Fund III
Fund III (2018−20) saw Blume evolving from a pure seed to a Seed / Pre-Series A fund. With a final close of $102M Fund, Blume could now write larger cheques. The 2020 COVID-led boom also saw seed and pre-Series A cheque sizes balloon. In Fund III, Blume’s cheques ranged from $750K – $2.3M.
