Alok leads the Investor Success function at Blume. In his role, he ensures that our investors (Limited Partners) are engaged and serviced holistically for all their needs – investor reporting and communication, governance, co-investment opportunities, and corporate development. Alok is also responsible for fundraise, investor reporting and servicing, investor engagement, and creating a framework for ESG at Blume and its portfolio companies.

As a career finance professional, Alok worked across a range of roles, with no two roles being similar. This created the ability to deal with ambiguity and follow uncharted paths. After graduating in biology and chemistry, he started his career with investment banking, then on to corporate banking, strategic partnerships, and corporate finance. This also involved moving cities, from his hometown in Agra to Kolkata and then to Mumbai, where he is currently based and operates. Across these roles, Alok was exposed to M&A and corporate restructuring, regulatory compliance, corporate finance, deal-making, and strategic partnerships and had the opportunity to associate with organizations such as ICICI Bank and Brand Capital.

An accidental entrant in the Indian venture capital ecosystem at Blume, he has worked across portfolio finance, finance, and compliance, creating and operating fund structures across jurisdictions, fundraise, and investor relations.

Alok is a charter holder of the CFA Institute, USA, and a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Alok is passionate about comics, movies in general, and 80s and 90s Bollywood in particular, watching tennis, reading history, politics, and economics.
