  1. Purplle Founded

    Manish Taneja and Rahul Dash officially launch Purplle, a beauty, cosmetics, and personal care marketplace.


  2. Angel Round

    The company raises $231K in its angel round.
  3. Seed Round

    Purplle raises $553K in seed funding from Blume Ventures, Mumbai, and Chennai Angels.
  4. Series A Round

    Purplle raises $3.85M in its Series A round from Ivy Cap Ventures.
  5. Series B

    Purplle raises $6M in Series B from JSW Ventures. Existing investors Blume Ventures and Ivy Cap also participated.
  6. Purplle explores omnichannel distribution

    Purplle unlocked a new milestone of ₹300 Cr in gross sales. The company set out to open five stores in Mumbai and several kiosks to experiment with the omnichannel format.


  7. Google Sand Hill Program

    Purplle joins Google Sand Hill Program, which partners with high-growth companies to help them leapfrog into the next generation of top companies.


  8. Series B

    Purplle closes its Series B after raising ~$9.10M after a couple of funding infusions from multiple investors, including Blume Ventures, Ivy Cap, and NB Ventures.
  9. Series C

    Purplle raises $36M in Series C round led by Goldman Sachs with participation from Spring Marketing Capital and existing investors.
  10. NY Bae X Shakti

    Purplle gets its first celebrity beauty brand. The company signs an agreement with choreographer Shakti Mohan to launch her premium range beauty and cosmetics brand NY Bae X Shakti.
  11. #GoPurplle

    The company signs Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan as its first brand ambassador and. Khan was the face of the company’s #GoPurplle campaign.
  12. Series D

    Purplle raises $45M in its Series D round led by Sequoia Capital India and Blume Ventures, along with participation from existing investors. They go on to raise $75M in continuation of its Series D round led by PE firm Kedaara at an enterprise valuation of $630M.
  13. Purplle raises $100M

    The Purplle patch continues. The company raises an additional $100M as a part of its Series D round led by Premji Invest and Sequoia Capital India, among others.


  14. Faces Canada

    Purplle acquires the India business of cosmetic and skincare brand Faces Canada. The company’s owned and acquired private label portfolio also includes GoodVibes, Carmesi and NYBae. 


  15. Purplle joins the Unicorn Club

    Purplle raises $33M in Series E from Paramark Ventures, hits a $1.1B valuation, and gets a unicorn tag.
