The Omega Files | Episode 2

Episode 1 of the Omega Files did cause a bit of a flutter last year. There were also a few questions left unanswered and it was for a reason. We need to give more meaningful learnings and data each year and we don’t have a new fund to dissect each year. In fact, Blume Fund II’s declassification and analysis is still at least 3 years away. So, what analysis can one provide in between?

Last year, the questions were ​‘Why?’, ​“Why?” and “ Why?”. ​“Why did you do it?”  I surveyed my team and got one set of answers to the Why’s and then I wrote all my own reasons.

Then, there is the reader’s curiosity to address. ​“What more can you tell us?”, ​“What’s the IRR?”, ​“How is it computed?” ​“How does it benchmark?” We have delved into this in Ep2.

Also, we believe it’s time for Indian venture funds to script their own narrative. Let’s see how our own ​‘desi’ power laws play out. We extended the invite; from one guest fund last year to more funds this year and we intend to keep the tradition going in Future editions.
